Refunds

When and how you receive your refund. Works alongside our Return Policy.

Refunds go back to the original payment method

We can’t refund to a different card, account, or payment type. Make sure the original card is still active before requesting a return.

Timeline

How long does a refund take?

Start to finish, plan on about 2–3 weeks from the day we receive your return.

    Inspection

    Once your returned item arrives, we inspect it within 2–3 business days.

    Processing

    If approved, the refund is initiated within 1–2 business days after inspection.

  3. 3

    Posting

    Depending on your bank, the refund typically appears on your statement within 5–10 business days after processing.

Coverage

What gets refunded

Refunded

  • Purchase price of eligible returned items
  • Sales tax paid on returned items

Not refunded

  • Original shipping (unless our error or defective item)
  • Return shipping (unless covered by Return Policy exceptions)
  • Restocking fees, when applicable

Cancellations

Need to cancel an order?

Email us as soon as possible at customerservice@backyardbbq.com. We’ll try to catch the order before it ships.

  • Before the order shipsFull refund, no fees
  • After the order shipsFollow the standard return process
  • Custom or made-to-order itemsMay not be cancellable once production has started

Partial refunds

When a partial refund applies

Sometimes the item comes back in a condition that warrants only a partial refund. Common reasons:

  • Returned outside the 30-day window (at our discretion)
  • Signs of use, installation, or fuel exposure
  • Missing or significantly damaged packaging
  • Missing parts, manuals, or accessories

Troubleshooting

Didn’t receive your refund?

    Check your statement

    Look for pending transactions on the card or account you originally paid with.

    Contact your card issuer

    Processing times vary by bank — they can tell you exactly when funds will post.

    Reach out to us

    If it’s been more than 10 business days since we notified you of the refund, email customerservice@backyardbbq.com with your order number.

Got a concern? Reach out before filing a chargeback.

Filing a chargeback before contacting us can delay resolution. We’re here to make it right and usually can do so faster than a chargeback dispute process.
